Welcome to the NMRFC Lions Tour to South Africa!

The plan is for 30 players and 5 coaches to visit South Africa for two weeks in July 2012, which will include 4 rugby matches and a Safari.

We have picked July 2012 as the lads will have just finished their GCSEs, and starting a well earned rest in their schooling. We also hope it will act as a great incentive for them to continue playing rugby during their teenage years.

One of the games will be against a Township side and we will be donating a full set of NMRFC Rubgy Team clothing (Shirt, shorts, socks etc) plus some much needed medical supplies. More detail on the Charity page.

The cost of the tour is approx. £1,500 per person, this is based on 2009 prices, so may change a little. That means we all need to raise as much money as possible, so if you can help, please do! There will be some great events coming, including: Black-tie Ball, car boot sales, raffles, entertainment evenings, etc. See the Fundraising page for details.

The company arranging the tour has taken a number of schools and clubs on the same tour before, so has established contacts, plus one of their personnel will be accompanying us throughout. For more details, click here:

Forthcoming events:

New Forest Show Litter Pick - Saturday 31st July.
Once again, we are invited to collect the litter following the annual show. We receive payment of £1,200 for this, which is a lot of money to be 'guaranteed' The more people who come along, the quicker it is done, so please put this date in your diary now - Sat 31st July.

Lions Ball - Friday 15th October.
Everyone who attended last year's Ball had a great time, so we've decided to organise one this year too, which will be even more fun! The venue is booked and date is set for Friday 15th October, so put it in your diary now - more info and the ability to buy tickets will follow in due course. Tell your friends about it now, so they can put it in their diary too.

Next meeting will be at the clubhouse, set for 6pm on Thursday 27th May 2010.
