Welcome
to Lions 2012 - The team
This team began life as the Under 6's age group in 2002 and a core
of at least half the players have been together ever since. Now the
squad boasts over 30 players and it is a sub-set of these who will
be going to South Africa, when they will be Under 16's in 2012.
The players are a great, lively bunch, from all walks of life, attend different
schools and live in the Lymington and New Milton area of the New
Forest. When they compete, something clicks and they play well beyond
their years, with a ferocious commitment, which more often than
not sees them in the finals of the competitions.
Opposite we have listed some of the main achievements of this squad
over the years. One defining moment was playing on the hallowed turf
of Twickenham in the Bowl play-off of the National Championships.
Rugby Tours
Over the last 5 years, we have been able to take up to 25 players away on a tour,
which have been great experiences for the players, coaches and parents
alike, helping to cement strong friendships.
2009 - Isle of Wight,
2008 - Nottingham,
2007 - Weymouth,
2006 - Nottingham,
2005 - Cheddar.
